Thank you

Dear Friend,

We would like first to thank you for your deep thoughts and prayers for
the population here in Lebanon. Lebanon lives currently an extremely
difficult situation, and the civilians are the first victims of this cruel
war.

The South of Lebanon is the most affected region in the country, as food
and water are missing for the population there; furthermore, the population
can't move freely because the roads connecting the South to the rest of
the country have been cut. Hundreds of families hence travel between
villages, and whereas one village in the South (Rmeich) used to host
6,000 inhabitants, it now contains 20,000 internally displaced persons.

We are trying to finds ways to distribute foods for the population in the
South to the most disadvantaged villages, but funds are cruelly missing.
We have identified needs - food and non-food items, hygiene products-
(list attached).

Our target is distributing help for the people in the South. However, if this
aim can not be reached, we will focus our activities in Beirut and it
surrounding region, since thousands of displaced persons have
succeeded in reaching Beirut in the last few days, and are also in need of
help.

We are coordinating our work and efforts with other local and international
organizations to ensure the help is distributed in an effective way and to
avoid duplication.

We welcome any help that could be provided from your end, and remain
at your entire disposal for any further information you might request.

Thank you again for your support, hoping for better times,

Sincerely yours,

President
Society Saint Vincent de Paul
