-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

my daily stop with you Dana!!!

when the war started last week, i didn't want to believe it, by any means!!
i thought it will be like a gaimett seif(a summer's cloud) over
Lebanon, i said it's a normal thing to us as Lebanese...i didn't want
to believe your emails, and i refused to think of it as a war...

two days later, i started to laugh at myself, i thought at this time
how silly is whats going on!! i started to feel that I'm just an
IDIOT!!who knows nothing about politics about wars,as if i never lived
a war before!!! my reactions to that was trying to play the role of
this IDIOT!! I was reacting sarcastically with everything around me!!

yesterday, i started to cry,and shout and insult everyone!!i knew it
when i talked to my sister. the first thing she told me on the msn
was: kiss ekht hayetna halakou rabna(fuck our lives...).i stood
silent!!what shall i tell her?? you are wrong?? or shall i encourage
her to stand still facing whats happening?? shall i ask her to go and
fight??fight who?? or shall i tell her to leave ??where??how??why??i
didnt say anything...yesterday Hicham my friend was sitting chilling
on his balcony looking at Beirut, Beirut that he refused to leave,
because he believed that its his own town, his greediness about Beirut
made it a city for him and him alone, he loved it, he wanted to write
about Beirut recovering, he wanted to do plays about its own people!!
now hicham is sitting on his balcony, his wife is sleeping, his cat is
hiding from the bombs, and he's looking at the sky not for hope but
counting the rockets falling on his love! he said he feels great!!
this is great isn't it??

today i thought that the war is not about terrorism, its not about
Hezbollah, its not about bridges, airports, electricity!!its not on
economics and tourism!! its not for exchanging prisoners between
Lebanon and Israel!!its not against Damascus and Tehran!!

This war is to destroy a culture!!!I'm not thinking of any culture
in specific here!!!
the only way to face, is to work on the ground, underground where ever,
we have to do music, we have to do films,
we have to sing, and tell stories

Believe me, we are in the stage of not only loosing Lebanon as a land,
we are loosing our culture ,day after day,
Beirut now is equivalent to war....
but we both know that Beirut is more than that....
