Happy Eid Al Adha (for whoever wanna celebrate)

well it is 31st dec , i think yes today is the eid al adha for all muslims ...
(as you westerners by now know the difference between sunni and shia
muslims thanks to the war in Iraq) well sunnis apparently celebrated yesterday , and today shia start their's.

Thanks to that we always had in lebanon 4 days adha because we start with sunnis for 3 days then shias start the next day of sunnis so we gain one day extra ... do you get what i mean? i am confused
...
aren't they just muslims..???

anyways i wish u happy eid ( i.e: xmas for the muslims) coinciding with the start of the new year 2007 ... is this significant ..?? is this a holy sign ???

Ya mami ,... i am freaking out thinking mentally now about the whole region...

isn't it so ironic that saddam was hanged on the first day of eid for some muslims (i.e sunnis started yesterday as u know by now) , and the start of a new middle east ...???

let me be poetic now : ' are we going to EVER have a peaceful middle east ?'
blahblahbla burghhhghburghh yuk yuk yuk....

With this thought i will leave you to celebrate a very peaceful
and forgiving and maturing new year

great health

wealth ( that would be good no?)

success

work

family

people you love

new year of love...

have a great new year

here is a cartoon by Imad Hajjaj about the state of the arab nation on this day of the eid ...
Translation :(sheep is the arab nation)

and whoever does not know about adha well in short (by wikipedia:

Eid ul-Adha (Arabic: عيد الأضحى ‘Īdul’aḍḥā), or Eid-e Qurban (Persian: عید قربان Eide Ghorbân) occurs on the tenth day of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijja. It is one of two Eid festivals that Muslims celebrate. Eid ul-Adha is celebrated by Muslims worldwide as a commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismael for God. Others celebrate Eid ul-Adha as it marks the end of the Pilgrimage or Hajj for the millions of Muslims who make the trip to Mecca each year. Like Eid ul-Fitr, Eid ul-Adha also begins with a short prayer followed by a khutba. In Mecca, the khutba is delivered at Mount Arafat.

It is celebrated on the 10th day of the month of Dhul Hijja (ذو الحجة) of the lunar Islamic calendar, after Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. This happens to be approximately 70 days after the end of the month of Ramadan.

Eid ul-Adha is four days long starting the day after the pilgrims in hajj (annual pilgrimage to Mecca by Muslims world wide) descend from mount Arafat.)

happy eid ...... ( oups it is 4 days usually anyways??) yes it is ... hehhehe so in eid sunnis and muslims are one??? ) ahhh

it is not eid still

the eid in cpl of days maybe
sorry wrong timing...
hard to know when u r in london :(
if my granny was still alive i would have got an envelop with some cash to go buy some candies...
God bless you granny ...

AP photo taken from al-akhbar

ps: on the side, just a brainstorm , if america hangs saddam on the eid , ie today it won't be a smart move... just heik thought to share it with you... why the provocation of millions of muslims worldwide ... i know he is a baddy but hanging is not going to get things better or get people he killed back ... do not get me wrong.. i am not with the dude, don't like his guts ... but hanging him and on the eid... naaaaa stupid move...

US Financed Israel Bombing of Lebanon: Putin reported 'furious' over US payment for Lebanon war

Reports from the Kremlin today are portraying President Putin as being 'furious' with the American War Leader Bush over his breaking of a promise to the Russian President to not provide US funding to the Israelis for their Lebanese War. Less than 3 weeks after making this promise the United States used a little known provision in their security agreements with Israel to fully pay for the war, and as we can read as reported by Israel's Ynet News Service in their article titled "US to double emergency equipment stored in Israel", and which says:

"The American Congress gave Israel financial and security encouragement when the Senate and the House of Representatives gave their approval to double the emergency equipment the United States stores in Israeli stockpiles. Within the next two years the American(cont'd)

The March to War: Political Crises in Lebanon and Palestine

Lebanon and Palestine are both unique lands on the shores of the Eastern Mediterranean and within the Levant; they are two ancient lands that have seen great armies and navies come and go in the course of history. Under various names and identities, both Lebanon and Palestine have seen more than their share of bloodshed and violence as different groups, interests, and entities have sought in the course of history to take control of their lands.

The populations of Lebanon and Palestine are now deep-rooted in a struggle within a broader geopolitical context that goes beyond the borders of their respective territories; one with far-reaching consequences.

Israel's "New Middle East"

Tanya Reinhart demonstrates that Israel's real aim in Lebanon is to establish the Litani River as its natural border. To realize this, it will first destroy Lebanon, then install a puppet regime and, finally, annex southern Lebanon.

The War on Lebanon and the Battle for Oil

by Michel Chossudovsky

Global Research, July 26, 2006

Is there a relationship between the bombing of Lebanon and the inauguration of the World's largest strategic pipeline, which will channel more than a million barrels of oil a day to Western markets?

Virtually unnoticed, the inauguration of the Ceyhan-Tblisi-Baku (BTC) oil pipeline, which links the Caspian sea to the Eastern Mediterranean, took place on the 13th of July, at the very outset of the Israeli sponsored bombings of Lebanon.

Beirut, Lebanon (AHN) - Supporters of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora's government have begun a campaign to discredit the masses demonstrating near the PM's office in downtown Beirut. Text messages were disseminated across the nation on Sunday to March 14 Forces - the coalition led by Siniora - suspected supporters.

"Visit our new OPEN ZOO in Riad el Soloh [downtown Beirut where the demonstration is located] for FREE; be aware they eat people," the text message read.

"The disdain for the poor and the Shia by the elite of Beirut and Lebanon who support the March 14 coalition can be seen in this text message," Sean C. Lee, an American analyst in Beirut told AHN news.

"Last year's independence intifada [Cedar Revolution] was seen as a democratic revolution, but now, some of these same people who participated in those protests view the demonstration in downtown as a freakshow," Lee added.

It is unknown how many Lebanese and foreign customers received the message, but it highlights the already tense political situation facing the nation.

The demonstration led by Hezbollah, the leading Shiite party, and the Free Patriotic Movement, a Christian party led by Michel Aoun, will enter its third consecutive night and protesters are adamant that they will stay in their tent city until Siniora steps down.

Government will stay 'calm' - Jumblatt

BEIRUT: Lebanon's pro-government forces dismissed a massive demonstration by the opposition on Friday as an attempt by allies of Iran and Syria to block the formation of an international tribunal to try suspects in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Lebanon's dueling demonstrations are no substitute for dialogue

Hizbullah's organizational prowess and discipline are impressive by any standard, and beyond question. This mirrors the pro-government forces who did exactly the same thing last week; and last year both the pro- and anti-government forces did the same thing. So what?

There is only one way to win a war in Lebanon - and that is to avoid it.

All efforts to remove Syrian influence from Lebanon are bound to fail. In order to understand this, it is enough to look at the map. Historically, Lebanon is a part of the land of Syria ("Sham" in Arabic). The Syrians have never resigned themselves to the fact that the French colonial regime tore Lebanon from their land.
